Hoodia is an all natural appetite suppressant that comes from South Africa. It really works, the only problem with Hoodia is making sure you get the real stuff. You have to know where to look. You want to make sure you get "pure hoodia" not an extract. Get a pure hoodia brand that has C.I.T.E.S. certification. You also need to make sure you get 750 mg. to 1000 mg. per pill. They usually don’t put enough Hoodia in these big chain store brands to do much of anything. To find the best Hoodia I always recommend Totalink’s unbiased Hoodia comparison at http://hoodiagordonii.totalink.com/hoodia_comparison.html

SheSul:
Hoodia is just a natural appetite suppressant. Hoodia contains a molecule called P57. This molecule tricks the brain into thinking you are full. The idea behind diet pills that contain hoodia is that if you feel full, you’ll eat less and make better eating decisions (like not eat as much as you normally would). Thus, you’ll lose weight. So in that sense, they are considered a weight loss supplement.
One thing hoodia IS NOT, is a rapid weight loss solution – or a magical weight loss solution. If that’s what you’re looking for, then I wouldn’t recommend hoodia. However, if you struggle with being hungry all the time and tend to overeat, then hoodia diet pills may be worth considering.
If you decide to give them a try, just be sure that you get 100% authentic hoodia gordonii. Most of the hoodia supplements on the market today are fake – meaning they contain very little, if any, hoodia gordonii. If you take these fake products, they’ll do nothing for you but empty your wallet!
There are certain things to look for to avoid these inferior products but the most important are CITES certificates and independent lab test results. Here is an article that outlines 13 things to look for when you buy hoodia to avoid being scammed:

As for success stories, results will vary but those who have had long term success with hoodia typically lose an average of 2-3 pounds per week.
Hope this helps.

November 21, 2004 will go down in history as the day that Hoodia Gordonii was discovered in America. http://www.gordoniihoodia.net it was on that date that CBS 60 Minutes aired a program about Hoodia Gordonii and for the first time many people were introduced to this traditional botanical. Hoodia is currently the most publicized and talked about natural weight loss supplement in America . It has been featured on CBS 60 Minutes, ABC, NBC Today, BBC, CNN, in Oprah’s “O” Magazine and in other major media.
Authentic Hoodia Gordonii is only available for export from South Africa. In the wild it is considered an endangered species and is strictly controlled. With the opportunity presently surrounding hoodia, the product is in very high demand which has created a surplus of counterfeit, fake and diluted hoodia products.
We have tested the leading Hoodia Brands and have selected three products that we feel offer the safest, most effective weight loss on the market today.
Hoodia Gordonii Plus is a cutting-edge, advanced appetite suppressant, metabolism booster, fat burner and energy enhancer all in one. This is a supplement if you are looking for more than just an appetite suppresent. thats all 100 % FDA Approved.

As a weight loss supplement, hoodia works to suppress your appetite, so you don’t feel hungry.
I’ve known people who have used it and swear by it — and others who say it didn’t work.
Everyone is different, and you will get out of it what you put in. If you don’t at least try to watch what you eat, hoodia won’t help much.
But if you use hoodia as a way to help control your hunger (to give you that little willpower "edge") then it’s a possibility.
Do some research before you start any weight loss suspplement, including possible side effects.
Best of luck!
